Unfinished landscapes

My wife is in paintings several paintings at once right now. She works on one for a while, and then goes to a different one. This process allows me to really look at her paintings as they developed. Today I noticed that as she paints, it is as if the landscapes are being freed from the blank canvas. Or for those creation-minded, it is as if her unfinished paintings are snapshots of God in the process of creating mountains and deserts.
